Our Work in the Community

Amazon

We are thrilled to share that we now have a partnership with Amazon that that will shift how we support local food pantries. The Wayne County Food Council believes in the power of community and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to nutritious meals. Through this innovative collaboration, the Wayne County Food Council will coordinate with Amazon to provide donations of product to our pantries and partners. The partnership will reduce the burden on pantries that are already stretched thin with increased demand and increase the availability of food items in the county. If your organization is interested in participating in this initiative and/or if you would like to volunteer to assist with organizing donations or other volunteer efforts, please contact the Wayne County Food Council at wcfc@waynefood.org.

Gleaners Mobile Pantry

Each month, the Wayne County Food Council board members are encouraged to assist Gleaners, Richmond Rotary and other community volunteers in distribution of food at their monthly mobile pantry, located at 10th Street Park in Richmond, IN. Typically, this distribution serves 400 households or more.
